Arrowhead Plant Care

This plant is absolutely gorgeous, distinguished by its variegated leaves and think vines. Not only is it beautiful, but it's so easy to grow!

Environment

The arrowhead vine is native to warm tropical regions, given this they prefer temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees fahrenheit. Indirect sunlight is best, for direct sunlight may cause leaf burn which will result in brown/dry spots on the leaves. However, the browning of the tips of the leaves may be a result of a lack of humidity in the air, to prevent this I usually mist my plants once or twice per day.

Watering

Arrowhead vines can tolerate both dry and wet conditions, however they grow best in between these two environments. I usually wait until the top couple of inches of soil are completely dry before I water. When watering, water completely throughout until you see water draining out of the bottom. A sign of overwatering is the yellowing of older bottom leaves.

Propagation

Arrowhead vines are one of the easiest plants to propagate! Simply cut a piece of vine at a node, or where a leaf branches off from the vine, and place your cutting in water or soil. I found that water works best for rooting these cuttings, however, if you choose to use soil make sure to keep the soil moist and the plant in a humid indirectly lit area. You should have a new plant in about two weeks!
